Arranging a funeral

We are here to help you through the process of arranging the final goodbye of a loved one.  Below are the general steps to follow after someone has passed away.  We can do as little or as much of the process as you need.

Remember above all we are here to make it easier for you.

The First Call  – The first time you contact us.

When your loved one passes there are a few bits of information that we need to get the process started:

  • What is their full name and date of birth?
  • Where did they die and where are they now?
  • Who is the next of kin and/or executor of the will?
  • Who will be the person arranging and what are their contact details?
  • Would they like to be buried or cremated?

Then you can ask us the questions already forming in your head.

 The Arrangement – A face-to-face meeting

We can meet you at our office, or a place convenient for you.  This meeting we will discuss all the options for saying goodbye, it will also be the time at which we complete the legally required paperwork for the death registration.

We will take care of all the statutory forms for you, including attaining a death certificate. What we need from you are the following details of your deceased loved one:

  • Full name (including maiden name)
  • Last address
  • Date of birth
  • Place of birth
  • Marriage and De Facto relationship details (place, date, age, and to whom married)
  • Children’s names and dates of births.
  • Parent’s names (including mother’s maiden name)
  • Parent’s occupation (while working)

We will then work through the numerous options of the funeral including:

  • When, where, and who will officiate
  • Coffin or casket, flowers or what you want on top of the coffin/casket, orders of service or bookmarks
  • Ideas you have had about your goodbye
  • All other personalisation options

This meeting generally takes 1-2 hours.  We discuss with you what made your loved one special, and how you would like to send them off.
